With the impressive time of 2:26:33, a young runner from Wulanchabu called Zhang Zhenlong won the second Grassland Extreme Marathon held in Xiwuqi on Monday. 13 minutes later, silver medalist Tony Orvain from France came in followed by Jiang Yongliang from Huhehaote.

Bikers got a tough last day in Genghis Khan MTB adventure. They had to fight in tough uphill parts against strong head wind and rain storm.the weather went from cloudy to windy rain storm during the second hour in to the 85 km race and some participants got showered several times. The wind was the toughest to fight against though, and it can be very strong on the grasslands.

Due to more interest showed for the 42 Km in the recent time, it has been decided that the 42km of Grassland Marathon actually will be held on July 6th 2009.
