Nordic Ways will celebrate its 10 year anniversary with the busiest calendar in its young history!
We have already organized a number of events in 2008 and we will finish the season with our Classic Ski Event - Vasaloppet China and Tour de Ski China.
Nordic Ways rounded up the bike season in October with one MTB race and one Road Bike race. First out was Birkebeinerittet China in Changchun. This is the sister event to the world's biggest MTB competition - the Norwegian Birkebeinerittet. Later on in October, a new event brand for Nordic Ways took place;Taicang Jincang Lake International Bike Festival, which is a road bike race in Taicang City, west of Shanghai.That attracted many foreign and chinese bikers to compete for the many great prizes. These events will both come back next year.
But, coming next is Vasaloppet and Tour de Ski China is which is this year with some of the best Cross Country skiers in the world going on an 11 day tour around China which will take them to places such as Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia, Changchun and Shangri-la. The tour will be held in 4 different cities from December 28th 2008 to January 7th, 2009.
Vasaloppet China will also continue its rapid growth from earlier years and will be organized for the 7th time on January 2nd, 2009.This is an event for the whole family and a special way to celebrate Christmas and New Year. The Changchun Governments New Years Banquet is not to miss!
For 2009, Nordic Ways will contribute to the development of the running sport in China. Two running events and one hiking event will be organized and the first one in 2009 will be Fjällräven Classic China. A hiking event in the mountains of Yunnan in cooperation with the famous Swedish outdoor sports brand Fjällräven-Mountain Fox.
We will continue in June with Lidingoloppet China, the sister event to the world's biggest cross country running event-Lidingoloppet in Sweden. And in July, you will have the chance to cross the vast Inner Mongolian grasslands by bike or on foot! Take part in the Genghis Khan MTB Adventure or run the Grassland Marathon!
Of course, don't miss out on classic Huangshan MTB Festival in early April, China's top Mountain Bike Competition!
More cycling events for the 09 Season is the new Shanghai Bike Festival which will be held on Shanghais F1 Track in May. Also, Beijings own Bike Race - Great Wall Bike Festival comes back in September 2009.
