Vatternrundan was the second Swedish event brand that Nordic Ways brought to China, the next after Vasaloppet.

Vatternrundan in Sweden is the biggest recreational bicycle event in the world with more than 25.000 participants from a variety of countries participating every year. It is an participatory amateur race with a history that goes back to 1966. Vatternrundan is a 300km road bike race around the Swedish Lake Vattern. More distances like "Half Vattern" and "Girls Vattern" has come to be added to the event during the years.  

The race has in itself about 15.000 participants each year, and due to its popularity and size it gets high attention both from national and international media every year. Vatternrundan Swedens focus on amateur bikers is a good fit for Nordic Ways since we organize a range of amateur events around China. The purpose of this cooperation with the Swedish event brand Vatternrundan is to promote biking in China and develop a positive culture and view on the cycling sport among the Chinese people.

As for now, both parts have signed a three-year contract of cooperation with the intension to extend it after its expiration.Nordic Ways are looking forward to a good cooperation and great future for Vatternrundan and the cycling sport in China!

In 2009, Vatternrundan China will be held ay Yuxi, Yunnan and the cyclists will go about 180 km around Lake Fuxian.
