Vatternrundan China - Track InformationVatternrundan will start in Yuxi City from Nie Er Culture Square,on to Yujiang Freeway to Jiangchuan Town. When you come out of the town, the road goes through Gu Mountain Scenery Area on Jiangcheng Highway until it comes to Fuxian Lake where you go one lap across the lake in clockwise direction.When you have gotten around the lake, the road goes back the same way through Gu Mountain Scenery Area to Yuxi City and the finish at Nie Er Culture Square.
The track distance is exactly 175.5km (ca 180 km) and the total climbing is 1346 m. Please view the track map for more details

Description of the Race Track - Vatternrundan China 2009
1st Part:
1. 78.8km group and 175.5 group starts together at Nie Er culture square
2. This part is on highway which parts of will be blocked by traffic police (intersections). Pay attention to cars when road is not blocked. When the police blocked road stops, you will be at a Highway Toll Station, please slow down at this point
3. Track here is cement and asphalt. Road is about one and a half cars wide. Please pay attention to your distance to the next person
4. Some uphill and some downhill, no big turns. This part has some low traffic bumps which will be marked with ”Danger” signs
5. At about 23km, you will come to Jiangchuan County Town where there will be a visible roundabout (with a statue in the middle). Go straight in the roundabout and you will enter the 2nd part. At about 7km from the roundabout you will see the first drinking station
Part 2:
1. The inner town road will only be controlled for a short time by the town’s traffic police. Please go straight on the designated road and look out for vehicles. Take care at this part as there are many small roads around the main track road
2. This road is cement and the road condition is only ok. In some places there are cracks in the road.
3. The road will be about one car width wide when you get out of the town. There are some uphills and downhills but not that big, no big turns.
4. The second drinking station is placed at 44km
Part 3: Jiangcheng Town/Sunshine ----Luchong Scenery Area
1. This part of the road is good quality asphalt/cement road, it is not blocked: Traffic Police will control the cars somewhat.
2. Some uphill and downhill parts, after some of the downhills there are sharp turns. Look of for the track “Danger” signs. Make sure you have enough distance to the biker in front and behind you.
3. At about 61.2km you will see the 3rd drinking station
Part 4: Luchong Scenery area （Outlook point）----Shengshui Hupan（Yue Chun Holiday Hotel）
1. Here you will enter a town with some side streets in connection to the main track. There are some ups and down hills after each other with quite steep height level differences
2. There will be some sharp turns at the bottom of the downhill slopes, warning signs and volunteers with flags will be present. Please keep a safe speed.
3. You will reach a Highway toll station, please slow down there.
4. At Shengshui Hupan（Yue Chun Holiday Hotel）almost at 78.8 km , the fourth drinking station will be located.
5. The 78.8km group will finish their race at Yue Chun Holiday Hotel. Look out for the signs and follow the right track for your distance
Part 5: Shengshui Hupan（Yue Chun Holiday Hotel）----108km Drinking Station
This part is good quality highway track; it will not be sealed off. There are some steep up and
downhills with two quite dangerous downhills. Please look out for the “Danger” signs
The fifth drinking station is located at about 106-108km
Part 6：（5th Drinking Station ----Sunshine beach/Jiangcheng Town）
Straight highway stretch
Part 7：（Sunshine beach/Jiangcheng Town ----Jiangchuan County）
Part 8：（Jiangchuan County----Nie Er Culture Square，Finish 175.5km
Here you are back on the road you came on from Yuxi. The road is the same the way back.
