Location
Vatternrundan China road bike race starts and finishes on Nieer Square in Central Yuxi. The main track goes 175.5 km clockwise around Fuxian Lake. Yuxi is located about 90 km from Kunming. Kunming can be reached by daily domestic flight from most bigger Chinese cities.

Registration
The registration fee is what you pay to get in the race. It includes start fee, number bibs and plates for your bike, event T-shirt,  insurance (one day insurance), refreshment at Power stations along the track, Government dinner banquet. Discount registration fee for groups of 8 people or more

Travel Packages
Nordic Ways offer travel packages for participants of Vatternrundan China and accompanying friends and/or relatives. The travel package service is planned to cover you and your bike's:

Transportation
From your arrival in Kunming-transport to Yuxi-back to Kunming in time for your departure.We pick you up whether you arrive at Kunming airport/train station or bus terminal.

Accommodation
in double room at Hongta Hotel (5-Star) during your stay. Please note who you want to stay with during the race. If you want to stay in a single room, it costs 250 RMB extra per night in addition to the travel package price. If you are just one person but want to stay in a double room, we try to book you with another single person.

Meals
Breakfast is served at the hotel. Lunch and dinner/Dinner Banquet arranged as in the Program.

Race Package / Number Bibs
Every participant needs to pick up their race package before start. Inside are the number bibs you should wear and and number plates to put on your bike.

Your individual race package can be picked up all through Friday Oct 29 at the Race Office in Hongta Hotel Lobby. You must pick up you start package before the end of the day. No numbers will be handed out on race day.
 
If you are many members of a team, we recommend that one or two of you pick up all the things for all team members. You can specify which team you belong to in the remarks box when filling in the online registration form

Race Day
Race start is on Saturday Oct 30 at Nie Er Culture Square, it is about 1.5km from Hongta Hotel. Participants should go by bike to the start area and be in place at the square at least one hour before race start. There will be buses from Hongta Hotel to the start for non-participating relatives and friends.

Security Inspection
Participants should go through the referees security inspection before going to the start line. Make sure that your number bibs are placed correctly and that you have no unallowed gear mounted on your bike.

Start Order
There are no specific start groups or start order in Vatternrundan China, however we recommend that participants going the 78.8km stand behind the ones going 175.5km and that you allow faster riders/professional amateurs to stand at the front in the start. 

Timing
Manual timing is used during Vatternrundan China. Your time starts when the start shot is fired and you are clocked at the Finish.

Track
The full track distance is 175.5 km and the total climbing is 1346 m. You can also choose to take part in the Road Bike 78.8km or MTB 78.8km distances instead. Please see the track map for details. Google Earth download version of the track  - Click here

Drinking Stations
There will be (6) drinking stations evenly placed along the track (see track map for locations). The stations will provide water, sports drink, bananas and chocolate. But please remember to bring your own water and energy bars etc. as a backup.

Security and Medical
A front car will guide the way for the leading cyclists. Traffic Police will block certain parts of the track for car traffic and will be responsible for traffic control along the whole track. An ambulance will also be on the track.

Drop Out
Pick-up bus and bike truck for bikers not able to finish will go behind the last biker throughout the whole race. If you are dropping out, please wave to the pick-up bus and inform our staff on the bus that you will not finish the race. Your bike will be transported to Nie Er square and can be picked up there after the race. Bicycles will be guarded by volunteers.See more under Program and Rules

Cut Off Time
The cut-off time for 175.km race is 17:30. This means that race services along the track ends at this time. If you have not chosen to go with the pick-up bus after 17:30, Nordic Ways do not take any further responsibility for you and you will be listed as DNF (Did Not Finish).

Bike Maintenance
Nordic Ways is not responsible for providing any bike maintenance BEFORE the race. We strongly suggest that you bring some basic gear like spare tubes, air pump etc. or that you borrow from other participants. There will however be a mobile car providing basic bike maintenance assistance during the race. See more under Program and Rules

Prizes
Prize money will be given to the first 10 position (Men/Women) in the 175.5km race. The top prize sum is 6000RMB for men and 4000RMB for women. All prize winners should be on time for the price giving ceremony. Since it is not possible to provide the full result list before the start of the award ceremony, if you think you came on a top placement but are not sure, please ask someone from the referee team right after finishing or go to the race office at Hongta Hotel.
