The 27^th of January 2007 saw the birth of the third Ambassadors Cup Ski Festival, and this year, as previous years, proved to be a great success.

 

The 2007 Ambassador's Cup was formally opened by speeches from the host of this year's Ambassador's Cup, the Swedish Ambassador, and by the General Manager of the Yuyang International Ski Resort, first time host of the event. 

 

 

Under a sunny and clear blue sky, the cup started with the women and men’s Giant Slalom, before the Snowboard competition and the Kids ski fun race.

 

Besides competing, people enjoyed themselves at the buffet table, relaxing in the sun or skiing the slopes just for fun.

 

After a short break it was then time for the cross country skiing competition. An 800m long sprint track had been laid out by Nordic Ways and seven teams had registrated for what would prove to be a stunning race.

 

Each team consisted of four team members, and used the mass start format. One skier from each team would all start simultaneously, and upon finishing the lap, the next skier would begin his lap.

 

In the end, after a thrilling final round, it was the Nordic Ways team who eventually won.

 

After the cross country competition it was time for the prize giving ceremony. The Swedish Ambassador held the final speech of the day before personally handing out the prizes to the three best teams in the cross country competition. The ceremony then followed with the woman’s and men’s Giant Slalom prize giving ceremony, before finishing with the snowboard competition and the Children’s ski fun competition, where everybody was a winner.
