Another big Swedish Sports event, Lidingoloppet is coming to China, and this time it is all about running. The first letter of intent for Lidingoloppet China was signed yesterday between Nordic Ways and Lidingoloppet in Sweden. This in presence of the Chinese ambassador and the city mayor of Changchun where the event will take place on June 21st this year.
The annual Lidingoloppet in Sweden is a famous 30K running event in tough terrain, and so will the Chinese equivalence be. Although, there will also be a choice of shorter distances to choose from. In Jingyuetan park where the event will be arranged there is an excellent terrain for this kind of tracks.
During 2007 Lidingoloppet had 34.000 participants in Sweden, which is a challenging but fully reasonable long-term ambition for Nordic Ways in China. People in Changchun are getting used to the Nordic Ways events, many of them have participated in Vasaloppet China, and as in the rest of the country there is a growing interest for practicing sports these days. So Nordic Ways are very positive and proud of this co operation!
