How to drive from Shanghai to Hongcun in Huangshan!

From Xinzhuang in Shanghai take Hu-Hang Highway 沪杭高速, and follow the signs to Hangzhou outer city Ring road 杭州绕城绕城 (You can also go straight through Hangzhou and take the road to Anhui west of Hangzhou City). Take the exit to Hang-Hui Highway 杭徽高速 and go straight for about 200 km. 

When you start getting to Huanghshan City, it is easiest to stay on the highway outside Huangshan City. You will then take the exit for Hetonghuang Highway on which you will go north on for 8 km. Then take the exit to Xiuning 休宁- Road S 103 westward. After you have passed Xiuning , follow the signs to Yi’xian 黟县(Yi County) , after a while, you will take a right to road S 218 then continue towards Hongcun 宏村 and the event hotel Jinling Hotel (hotel address below):

Foreigners Accommodation during Huangshan MTB Festival
VERY IMPORTANT!!

The local government has decided that all foreigners coming to Huangshan MTB Festival 2010 MUST STAY at Jinling Hotel (which is the Event Hotel for the race) for security reasons. Please note that it is local governmental and police authorities that set the rules of foreigners lodging during Huangshan MTB Festival and not Nordic Ways.

The distance is 430 km from Shanghai to Huangshan and from there 11 km to Hongcun. It will take about 6 hours in total.

Many bikers choose to ride their bikes from Yi County to Hongcun Parking on the morning of the race as warm-up. The Event Arena is at the parking lot in front of the entrance to Hongcun Scenery Area.
