Lena Gavelin, 2nd place in the women’s 30km in 2008 years Lidingoloppet in Sweden, and Japhet Kipkorir, 2^nd in the men’s 30km are both coming over to China to run in Lidingoloppet China 2009. 

Lena Gavelin is born 1974 and she has been competing with the Swedish track and field athletics team for many years. She has a Swedish gold in 10.000 m and is the keeper of the Swedish Marathon record which she set in 2003 at the World Championships in France.

Lena is a four year consecutive winner of the Swedish Lidingoloppet in which she took the first position in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.  

Japhet Kipkorir comes from Kenya and is born 1981. he competes for a Swedish running club in Gothenburg and also competes in many other races in the world. Some of his merits are a 3^rd and a 5^th position in the Swedish Half Marathon race Göteborgsvarvet 2007, 2008 plus his 2^nd position in last years Lidingoloppet where he finished just 13 seconds after the winner Mustafa Mohamed (SWE)

Japhet set his personal best in a half marathon with the time 1:02:32 in Merano on April 26^th 2009.

Something to keep in mind is that starting from this year, Lidingoloppet China is a seeding race for Lidingoloppet in Sweden and the winners of the 30km run in China get a free trip to Sweden and a starting position in 2009 years Lidingoloppet outside Stockholm on Sept 25th-27th
