With still plenty of summer left in China, Nordic Ways starts out the fall season with 2 brand new events. Vasa Bike & Vasa Swim Festival, held on August 29th is a kind of “2 in 1” contest where participants ride their bikes in the morning and do open water swimming in the afternoon.

These 2 fun events take part in Jingyuetan Park just outside of Changchun. Jingyuetan National Forest Park is a state protected nature park which was recently awarded as one of the Top 8 Scenic Spots in Jilin by the provincial government.

The two events are separately a part of the newly launched Chinese Challenge, a four part contest where you apart from Vasa Bike and Swim Festival also complete Vasaloppet China (cross-country skiing) and Lidingoloppet (cross-country running) in the course of one year. An exclusive medal and diploma awaits the one who finish all four contests.

There are many different cycling and swimming distances in both event so that everyone can find a suitable race to take part in. There are even price money to win if you take part in the longest cycling distance of 90km in Vasa Bike Fasteval and the 3000m swim in Vasa Swim Festival.

The shortest bike race is 18km, you can choose between going the road bike or mountainbike course if you go the 18km. Seniors, or people over 50 years old have their own bike group of 36km.

People who want to take it easy in the swim race can go the 500 or 200m distance...
