First Ever MTB Festival in Huangshan World Heritage Site

On 15 April 2006, the Zhongkun Huangshan MTB Festival brings the spirit of mountain biking to the stunning Chinese landscapes of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites Huangshan, villages Hongcun and Xidi. With 90 km of varied and challenging terrain in unique scenery, the ride offers an experience unlike any other.

Huangshan is a spectacular mountain portrayed in numerous traditional Chinese paintings – best known for its mystic scenery of dramatic peaks in a sea of clouds. In spring, the surrounding area is blanketed in yellow flowers, making for a scenic ride.
Those of you who have seen the Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon might also be familiar with some of the environments, as parts of the film were shot here.

Jointly organized by Nordic Ways, China Cycling Association (CCA), Huangshan Municipal Government and Norway’s Birkebeinerrittet, (the world’s largest MTB marathon with 11 000 participants) the first Zhongkun Huangshan MTB Festival will combine Chinese traditional culture with mountain biking at an international level.
