The whole four-day Genghis Khan Race Trip has finally ended with today’s Grassland Marathon 10 km, 21 km and 42 km. July 4th Genghis Khan Grassland Marathon is worthy of the name as a real challenge of extremity.

The Event starts at 9:00 at the culture square start line. At around 8:30, our referees are busy in preparing the timing system, a new system of IPICO, which is introduced from abroad, like platting the timing blanket, setting the whole timing computer system and roll calling. With the whole flows rushing from the start line, race starts!

At first, all athletes are just getting full energy that they are connecting in a quite close way. Later after around half an hour, disparity comes. In a word, time for the stamina and skill! Participants can be in all situations due to the difficulties the whole marathon may take. Since our track is all sandy and tough deep mixed road, which is really challenging for runners, some of the participants will prefer to run over the grassland sideward. However, the grass is not friendly that it will always scuff their legs. In a word, it’s really hard for athletes to choose. Besides, “Under the baking from the high heat, you are just running and chasing the shadow from the wind all by yourself without seeing anybody else. The loneliness or even the fear is coming along!” one 42km athlete James said. As we can see, it means a lot as long as you can finish this extreme running, no matter how much time you have taken for. What touched we most is one athlete keels down on the finish line to kissing the ground to celebrate his completion of the whole race. Though he is like the last five of the race, this spirit is so huge that everyone on-site can’t help to applause for him. Anyway, besides the torturing and challenging, it really feels good when you can run together with the cattle, right? If you get the chance, if you are also interested in it, come and join us.
