Shangri La Duathlon Challenge on 4 June 2017

Nordic Ways is happy to announce a brand new event to take place on 4 June 2017 in the famous tourism city of Shangri La in Yunnan Province: the inaugural Shangri La Duathlon Challenge during China’s Dragonboat Festival holiday! Organised with start and finish in the Old Town of Zhongdian, duathletes will run 10 kilometres as a start, followed by approximately 50km of road biking around the beautiful lake outside of the city, and another 10km of running at the end. Given the high altitude of just over 3000m above sea level, the Shangri La Duathlon Challenge is definitely a mouth-watering event for endurance and ultra athletes!
Duathlon, also sometimes called Run-Bike-Run, is an official sport recognised by the International Triathlon Union. Worldwide it is gaining in popularity as people seek new sporting and exciting challenges. The new event in Shangri La will feature an individual and a team competition. Whereas the individual will be required to run and bike by himself, the team competition will be consisting of  runners and a cyclist. As such, the new event also makes for a great corporate team building experience in the beautiful surroundings of Shangri La.
All event details and online registration will be available in due course.
